Are You Taking Sunscreen Seriously?

Summer in Scottsdale is here, and the sun’s rays are stronger than ever. If you are like most women, you probably make sure you have your sunglasses on hand before heading out the door. However, are you taking the time to apply sunscreen as well? The majority of women are actually skipping the sunscreen, which can cause early signs of aging, and even put you at risk for skin cancer.

Sunscreen Habits

SkinStore.com recently conducted a survey to learn more about American women’s sunscreen usage. The survey included 2,000 women across the U.S., and revealed that only 28% of women are using sunscreen on a daily basis, and one-third of women only bought a sunscreen product once a year!

The survey also revealed how women feel about the dangers of the sun. It seems that women are not taking the dangers of skin cancer as seriously as they should, with only 48% worried about developing skin cancer, and 51% concerned about premature signs of aging.

While it makes sense that many would be worried about signs of aging, skin cancer is a real, serious thing, and needs to be considered. Just applying a gold ball sized dollop of sunscreen 30 minutes before heading outdoors could save your life.
